Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera Review!!

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 has been on my wishlist for a while now. I've wanted an instant camera for ages! I finally decided to take the step and buy one. You can currently buy one for $63, or buy the previous model for $59! I'm really enjoying it, continue reading to see my full review.
The black Instax Mini 8!
Price
The camera itself is reasonably priced. The film is where it gets quite expensive. You have to remember that it's not meant to be an everyday camera. Digital photos are often lost, deleted, misplaced, or simply never looked at after being taken! When taking a picture with film, you can put it on your wall, or your wardrobe, in a picture book, or wherever else you like, to look back on. Film costs $36 for a pack of 50
or $14 for a pack of 20. This may seem like a lot, but you probably won't be using the camera that much, only for special occasions, so it's actually not that bad! Additionally, if you buy the Instax 7s, the previous version of the Instax camera, you get a free pack of film!

Photo Quality
Out of the 20 photos that I took, they were all good except 2 (so only 1 in 10!) due to poor development or due to attempts to use the other lighting options. To me, that seems pretty good for an instant camera.. The camera comes with a few lighting options - Indoors, Night (F12.7), Cloudy, Shade (F16), Sunny, Slightly cloudy (F22), Sunny and bright (F32) and a high key mode for high levels of brightness. I found the lens to be quite sharp, and there is little distortion.
Controls and usability
To use the camera press the switch next to the lens, which pops the lens out. Once the lens is out, you can adjust the manual exposure slider and take a photo. To turn the camera back off, just mash the lens back in. It takes some getting used to, but in practice it works fairly well.
One of the stranger aspects of the camera is the decision to place the viewfinder on the top right edge of the camera, the exact opposite side of nearly every other camera on the planet. If you rotate the camera 90 degrees counterclockwise, the viewfinder moves to the correct place, but you’re forced into shooting in landscape mode.

Build quality
The Instax Mini 8 is quite small for an instant film camera. The camera can fit comfortably into a backpack or large coat pocket. Those who are used to tiny digital cameras or iPhones will probably find it quite large. The camera runs off of two AA batteries that sit in the grip. Even though this camera is an all plastic affair, it feels solid and durable. It also comes in many colours!

I highly recommend the camera to everyone. I think everybody would enjoy it, whatever age or gender. I hope you enjoyed my review, thanks for reading!
