Myspace Famous People who made it out of Myspace

At it's peak in 2008, Myspace had almost 76 million users and had a peak value of $12 million. Hundreds of people were made e-famous whilst on Myspace, however as Myspace begun to die out, so did most of the people known there. However, a lucky few continued to be successful.

Jeffree Star started his music career on MySpace with over 25 million plays on his self-released
music. He begun wearing makeup in junior high, and his Myspace pictures would often get over 50,000 comments. 8 years on, and Star has 12 singles, 3 EPs, a studio album and a successful makeup career. He is also releasing his own cosmetics line. (Did I mention he made a song with Nicki Minaj?)

Chris Crocker is best known for his Britney Spears video, uploaded to YouTube on September 10, 2007, however this was actually part 2. The first part of "Leave Britney Alone" was posted on his Myspace profile, the second part was posted to Youtube and Myspace. Crocker begun uploading videos to Myspace as a teenager. His videos were often outrageous, and he eventually moved to Youtube. At the height of Crocker's career, he would have paparazzi following him around Hollywood. In 2011, he was said to be worth $450,000 and in 2012 he released his documentary "Me at the Zoo".

Before Myspace, Lily Allen's record label were preoccupied and unable to give her much attention. In 2005, Allen created a Myspace account to began posting demos that she recorded. The demos attracted thousands of listeners, and 500 limited edition 7" vinyl singles of "LDN" were rush-released, reselling for as much as £40.Allen also produced two mixtapes — My First Mixtape and My Second Mixtape — to promote her work. As she accumulated tens of thousands of MySpace friends, The Observer Music Monthly (OMM), a magazine published in The Observer, took interest in March 2006, a couple of months later she appeared on the cover. Lily Allen is an example of the dozens of musicians who made it due to Myspace, but she is my favourite so the only one in this post :-) (before I get lots of angry comments, I know she wasn't stereotypically myspace famous but without Myspace her career might not be where it's at now!).

Alex Evans was likely the most well known emo guy ever. He posted pictures to Myspace, and with his in-style (at the time!) look and (arguably) good photography skills, his pictures spread like wildfire. He is now a successful photographer, and has shot for many clients, including Chloe. His Facebook page also has 450,000 followers.

Tom Anderson was the co-owner of Myspace. Whenever a new account was made, you were automatically made friend's with Tom. He was sort of Myspace famous by default, not by choice of Myspace users! By 2010, Anderson was no longer the default "friend" on Myspace, being replaced by a profile called "Today On MySpace" or "T.O.M". As of 2014, Tom is said to be worth $60 million dollars.
